The Aera 5000 is billed as India's first electric motorcycle with a 4-speed manual gearbox, giving riders a genuine clutch-and-shift experience rather than the twist-and-go feel of every other electric motorcycle on the market. Launched in March 2023 with a 5 kWh battery, a liquid-cooled motor and a claimed IDC range of around 125 km, it is aimed at commuters and long-highway riders who specifically want a manual-shift feel from an EV, and comes with a 7-inch LCD touchscreen, keyless entry, park assist and OTA updates. It is offered in Aera 5000 and Aera 5000+ trims. Matter has publicly stated plans (as of August 2026) to launch four additional electric motorcycles on the Aera platform over the next 12-24 months, but as of this writing none of those are named, specced or launched, so only the Aera 5000 family is seeded here.
