Hyundai Hyundai Creta Electric
9 Variants · Starting from ₹18.02 Lakh
The Hyundai Creta Electric, launched in January 2025, is Hyundai Motor India's core mainstream electric SUV and the company's first locally manufactured EV, built on the same compact SUV platform as the hugely popular petrol Creta -- one of India's best-selling SUVs overall. It is offered across 9 variants split into two battery tiers -- Executive, Executive Tech, Premium, Excellence and Excellence Knight on the 42 kWh pack, and Executive (O) LR, Smart (O) LR, Excellence LR and Excellence LR Knight on the larger 51.4 kWh "Long Range" pack -- with the LR pack rated for an ARAI-certified (AIS 040 Rev.1, MIDC Part 1+2 cycle) range of up to 510 km, and starting prices from around Rs 18.02 lakh position it as Hyundai's volume electric play rather than a premium halo model. The Creta Electric was launched specifically to fill the gap left by the imported Kona Electric, which Hyundai discontinued in mid-2024, giving the brand a domestically produced, more competitively priced electric SUV to compete against rivals like the Tata Nexon.ev, MG ZS EV and Mahindra XUV400 on more even pricing terms. Leveraging the Creta name's enormous brand recognition and sales track record in India across its petrol and diesel variants, the Creta Electric is positioned to be Hyundai's primary volume driver in the Indian EV market, aimed at mainstream SUV buyers upgrading to electric rather than niche early adopters.
