Kia Kia Carens Clavis EV
9 Variants · Starting from ₹18.04 Lakh
The Kia Carens Clavis EV, launched in July 2025 from a starting price of around Rs 18.04 lakh, is an electric version of Kia India's Carens Clavis MPV and the brand's entry point into affordable, family-oriented electric motoring. Built domestically and offered across 9 variants split into two battery tiers -- HTK+, HTX E and HTX on the 42 kWh pack, and HTX E ER, HTX ER, GTX ER, HTX+ ER, GTX+ ER and X-Line ER on the 51.4 kWh "Extended Range" (ER) pack -- it delivers a claimed range of roughly 404 km to 490 km depending on the pack chosen, while retaining the Carens Clavis's practical 6- or 7-seat MPV layout (GTX ER and GTX+ ER are 6-seat captain-chair-only trims; every other trim seats 7) that prioritises interior space and seating flexibility over SUV styling. At launch, the Carens Clavis EV was positioned as India's most affordable 7-seat electric car, a notable distinction in a market where most budget EVs are smaller hatchbacks or compact SUVs with only 5 seats. This makes it a particularly relevant option for larger families who need genuine third-row seating but don't want to pay flagship-SUV prices, sitting well below Kia's imported EV6 and EV9 in cost while offering seating capacity that neither of Kia's own smaller electric SUVs, like the Syros EV, can match. For value-conscious family buyers in India, the Carens Clavis EV represents one of the more practical, space-focused electric options on sale.
