The Mahindra XEV 9e is a mid-size coupe-SUV built on the same INGLO "born-electric" platform as the sportier BE 6, but styled with more upright, conventional SUV proportions aimed at buyers who want a more practical, family-friendly shape rather than the BE 6's sportier coupe roofline. It shares its 59 kWh and 79 kWh LFP battery pack options with the BE 6, delivering a claimed range of up to roughly 656 km (MIDC) on the larger pack, and represents Mahindra's premium, feature-rich positioning within its new-generation electric SUV range. Alongside the BE 6, the XEV 9e sold around 30,000 combined units in its first seven months on the market, underlining strong early buyer interest in Mahindra's pivot to dedicated electric-only platforms rather than retrofitted ICE-based designs like the older XUV400. The XEV 9e sits below the newer, larger 7-seat XEV 9S in Mahindra's lineup, giving the brand a spread of INGLO-based SUVs from the 5-seat BE 6 and XEV 9e up to the 3-row XEV 9S, all sharing core battery and platform technology while differing in body style, seating and price.
