The MG Windsor EV, launched in 2024, has become one of MG Motor India's best-selling electric models, built as a distinctive crossover/MPV-style body that blends SUV-like ground clearance with a more spacious, van-like cabin than a conventional SUV. It is offered with two battery options -- a 38 kWh base pack and a 52.9 kWh "Pro" pack -- delivering claimed range of roughly 331 km and 449 km respectively, both treated here as a single model family with two battery-size variants rather than separate models, since the Pro is a higher-capacity version of the same underlying car rather than a distinct body or platform. A key part of the Windsor EV's appeal in the Indian market is its Battery-as-a-Service option, which lets buyers separate the cost of the battery from the vehicle's upfront price, significantly lowering the initial purchase cost in exchange for an ongoing battery subscription -- a strategy also used by some rival brands to win over price-sensitive first-time EV buyers. Its unconventional crossover-MPV shape sets the Windsor EV apart from the more traditional SUV silhouettes of the ZS EV and Hector Tomahawk EV elsewhere in MG's range, appealing to buyers who prioritise outright cabin space and a distinctive look over a conventional SUV stance.
