The VinFast VF 6, commercially launched in India on September 6 2025 from around Rs 16.49 lakh, is the entry-level model in Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast's Indian electric lineup and one of the first right-hand-drive VinFast models built anywhere in the world. It uses a 59.6 kWh battery pack rated for a claimed range of roughly 463 km to 468 km (ARAI), and is manufactured at VinFast's own integrated plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, which has a stated annual capacity of 50,000 units. The VF 6 was first unveiled to the Indian market in January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Expo, though pricing and commercial availability only followed some eight months later in September 2025 -- a distinction worth noting since press coverage sometimes conflates the two dates when describing the model's "launch." As VinFast's smaller, more accessible compact SUV, the VF 6 sits below the larger VF 7 in the brand's lineup, giving newly entered VinFast a two-model spread in India while the brand works toward introducing further models, including the smaller VF 3, which remains unlaunched as of this writing.
